We are working with a school in West Didsbury, Manchester, who cater for students with a wide range of physical, complex medical and communication needs. The aims of the school are to provide a secure, happy and stimulating environment, where each child can grow to their full potential, not only academically but also socially, emotionally and physically and to treat each child as an individual, delivering a curriculum that grows and adapts to meet the needs of every child by nurturing lively, enquiring and questioning minds.
The position will be working predominately with 3-16 year old pupils who have a variety of Special Education Needs ranging from physical, complex medical and communication needs. The school is committed to working together with everyone involved in the life of their pupils and the school. You must have experience supporting students who can display very challenging behaviour, or who require specialist assistance. You will also be required to engage and interact with the children to enable them access the curriculum fully and cater to a variety of special educational needs.
Experience/ Personal Specification Required:
- Some school based experience
- A Teaching Assistant (level one)
- A hands on attitude
- A proven record of outstanding teaching and results
- Experience working with SEN schools (desirable)
- Team teach or restraint training
- Go above and beyond expectations
- Empathy and patience
