Teaching Assistant

The SENCO and Headteacher of a reputable Primary School in Preston are looking for an inspirational Teaching Assistant to join their fabulous KS2 Team!

This role is a full time classroom support role and the working hours are 8:45-15:15 Monday-Friday term time only. The year group is yet to be decided however is expected to be Y4 or Y5 dependant upon the successful candidate and their prior experience and skill-set. All support staff in school report directly to the SENCO, who is ideally looking for someone who has experience of supproting a class teacher and somebody who can provide catch up support for pupils. With this in mind, KS2 experience is essential for this role and candidates must have excellent knowledge of Maths and English.

The successful candidate will be joining a lovely school where each child is eager to learn, behaviour in school is exemplary and the KS2 team is made up of experienced teachers and support staff who share a genuine passion for Education and helping children to succeed. This is a unique role and would be well suited to an experienced practitioner who is looking for their next challenge. To be considered for this role, candidates must be confident delivering high quality Maths and English interventions. As an additional staff member, this is a new role in school and is to begin as soon as possible, it is likely this role will continue into the 2021/22 academic year following success of the interventions and additional classroom support.

To be considered you must have:

-          Minimum L2 childcare related qualification or equivalent.

-          Experience of supporting children across Key Stage 2.

-          Excellent knowledge of English and Maths and ability to liaise confidently with the class teacher.

-          Immediate availability to work five days per week term time only (8:45-15:15).

-          Professional qualities to be a positive role model in the classroom for all children and less experienced staff.
