SEMH Teaching Assistant Spalding

Are you committed to helping young people achieve their full potential?

Teaching Personnel are looking for a strong willed and nurturing teaching assistant to support our client school in Spalding.

  • Full time role teaching assistant role
  • Immediate and September starts available
  • Competitive rate of pay - up to £1300 per month
  • Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH is essential

Due to a need within the department, our client school in Spalding are looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour or Social Emotional Mental Health. As a specialist Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with the SENCO in our client schools alternative provision/inclusion unit. The successful Teaching Assistant will be required to support pupils with behavioural difficulties on a 1:1 basis assisting them in reaching their academic and behavioural targets.

The ideal candidate will be able to build positive relationships with students and staff across our client school. The successful Teaching Assistant will be required to work with students who display disruptive, anti-social and aggressive behaviour and therefore we are looking for someone who is able to diffuse situations in a confident and calming manner.

Experience working with young people with SEN/SEMH is essential for this role.

Our client school is a rapidly growing comprehensive 11-16 secondary school based in South Lincolnshire. The school serves a diverse multi-ethnic community and has just fewer than 800 pupils on roll. The school Head teacher is committed to ensuring that all students have access to a wide range of educational opportunities and aims to ensure that all students achieve their full potential.
