Teaching Assistant

We are working with a SEN School in the Alfreton area that is a lively, successful Special School for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, with severe and profound learning difficulties. The school has a strong commitment to child safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to respect this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.

They require Relief Teaching Assistants to work across the school as and when required, to support teaching and learning. The successful applicant needs to be able to respond our pupils learning levels and support pupils in all areas including personal care and self-help skills.

Applicants need to have a love of learning, enjoy a challenge and have the ability to develop strategies in problem solving. We require a person who has enthusiasm, energy and is able to contribute positively to the team working of the class and the whole school.

The successful candidate must be prepared to work across the school.

The ideal candidate: 

• SEN experience 
• Knowledge of Makakton and PECs
• Comfortable with personal care 
• Able to work across all age ranges 
• Available at least 3 days a week
