Psychology Graduate Behaviour Mentor
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Psychology Graduate Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive SEN school. You must be equipped to anticipate a fast paced and change from day to day. This kind of environment will allow you to think outside the box and adopt teaching and learning strategies different to ‘traditional learning’. Working closely with students who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD and other additional needs, you will play a key role in helping young people overcome barriers to learning and feel safe, understood, and capable of progress.
Day in the life:
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings.
- Assist pupils with behavioural, emotional and social challenges.
- Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.
- Implement behaviour support strategies alongside teachers and SEN professionals.
- Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to support plans
How you will stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology (or related subject)
- Resilient, patient and understanding attitude
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviours
- The ability to implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour effectively
- A commitment to encouraging the pupil’s engagement, confidence, and emotional development
Requirements
Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain (if not already holding):
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- An Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training (provided)
- At least two professional references covering the past two years
- Experience with SEN (Preferred)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
