SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are working with a welcoming primary school in Worthing who are looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to make a genuine difference to their day-to-day experience at school.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to children with a range of additional needs, helping them to feel settled, engaged and able to access their learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
- Supporting children with their learning and development
- Helping pupils with additional needs to engage positively in the classroom
- Encouraging independence, confidence and communication
- Supporting children with their social and emotional development
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team
- Creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment
We're Looking For
The school is looking for someone who is:
- Patient, caring and approachable
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
- Confident working as part of a team
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Consistent and encouraging in their approach
- Reliable, proactive and keen to make a difference
Previous experience working with SEN is desirable, but not essential. Experience in a primary school, nursery, childcare, support work or similar settings would also be welcomed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
