Design & Technology Teacher – Durham Secondary School
Long-Term Supply, MPS/UPS £32,916 – £51,048, ASAP Start
Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Design & Technology Teacher for a long-term supply position at a secondary school in Durham, with an immediate start available. D&T is a subject area where strong, qualified teachers are consistently in demand, and this is a genuine opportunity to secure a long-term placement in a well-resourced, practical department.
The school is looking for a specialist who can deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across KS3 and KS4, manage a practical workshop environment safely and confidently, and contribute to a department that takes the subject seriously as a discipline.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and delivering D&T lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teaching across a range of materials, processes, and design disciplines
- Managing a practical workshop environment to the highest safety standards
- Assessing student progress and supporting students of all abilities
- Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school events
- Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities
To be considered:
- QTS or equivalent
- A degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience teaching D&T at secondary level
- Confidence managing a practical workshop environment safely
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
