Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in Lowton. This position has become available due to a staff absence and the start date is asap. This

Role details:

Full time
ASAP start
Temporary position with the opportunity to move to fixed contract
Pay rate is £77-85 per day (dependant on experience)

Responsibilities of a TA include:

Working 1-2-1 and in small groups supporting pupils to complete work
Being a positive role model and assisting the teacher in classroom management
Motivating pupils to achieve their educational attainment
Managing challenging behaviour
Following specific plans for students with social, emotional and mental difficulties

For this role, previous experience working with young people in a school or youth work setting is desirable but not required. This role may also suit graduates or anyone who is looking to gain experience working in a school.

This school is an Ofsted graded ‘Good school’ and has a dedicated team of learning support staff.

Located on the outskirts of Wigan, the secondary school can be reached off the M6 motorway close to the Shevington Moor exit and via local public transport links including trains and buses.
