Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and experienced team. You’ll work closely with individual pupils or small groups to support their academic, emotional, and social development.

We are dedicated to supporting children aged 11–16 who face barriers to learning, including social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). We pride ourselves on offering a trauma-informed, inclusive, and nurturing environment that enables every learner to believe, achieve, and succeed.

With a strong relational ethos, purpose-built SEND spaces, and a highly personalised curriculum enriched by activities like forest school, horse riding and pottery, we are a unique but exciting place to work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to students, adapting tasks to individual needs

  • Deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions (academic or wellbeing-focused)

  • Support pupils with SEND, including those with SEMH and behavioural needs

  • Help implement personalised Inclusion Support Plans

  • Foster resilience, confidence and independence

  • Uphold the school’s values of respect, responsibility and resilience

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, patient, and calm under pressure

  • Skilled in building strong relationships with young people

  • Able to work flexibly in a fast-paced and emotionally dynamic environment

  • Experienced in supporting children with complex needs 

  • Committed to inclusion, equality and safeguarding

Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, Team Teach, ELSA, or equivalent) are an advantage, but we welcome applications from those with experience only.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
