SEMH Teaching Assistant - September 2025 Start

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people?

We’re seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary setting in Bournemouth, working with students aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This full-time role starts in September 2025, from 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, during term time.

You’ll be joining a specialist provision that provides a nurturing, structured and high-impact environment for students who thrive with tailored support and consistent adult presence.

 

The Role:

  • Supporting secondary students (KS3 & KS4) with SEMH needs

  • Working closely with class teachers and pastoral teams

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Promoting emotional regulation, behaviour management, and academic engagement

  • Contributing to a calm, safe and inclusive school culture

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
