Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Part-Time | Wimborne | September 2025 Start (or Sooner)

A forward-thinking and supportive school in the Wimborne area is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a part-time role with the potential to start earlier, supporting pupils aged 4 to 18.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across a broad age range. You may lead small groups, support 1:1 sessions, and even step in to deliver planned lessons in the teacher’s absence. Your adaptability and initiative will be key to helping pupils thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the delivery of lessons across various key stages

Lead small group interventions and targeted learning sessions

Assist with planning, assessment, and classroom organisation

Deliver pre-planned lessons when required

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils
What We’re Looking For:

HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
-
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
-
Confidence in leading sessions and supporting whole-class teaching
-
Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
