Teaching Assistant in SEN School

Teaching personnel are working closely with an SEN school based in Oxford that provides education for a wide range of needs including the following:
- Autistic Spectrum Condition, including Asperger's Syndrome (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Dyslexia
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Experience working with children or adults with additional needs would benefit your application; however, this is not necessary.

Personal qualities required:

- A good listener and sensitivity to pupils needs
- A sense of responsibility
- Positive behaviour management
- A good sense of humour
- Flexibility and use of initiative is very important
Skills and abilities required:
- Knowledge of the national school curriculum
- Good questioning
- Good observation and assessment skills
- Knowledge of the standard of work expected from pupils
- Knowledge of a range of learning support needs
- Understanding of open-ended questioning and investigative work
- Problem solving
Additional training including Team Teach and PECS could be beneficial for this role,

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
