Fully Qualified Teacher (Specialist resource base)

Location: Barry

Full-time – Ongoing position

Start Date – Immediate

Pay Rate - £157.66 per day

The head of a client Resource Base in Barry is looking for an experienced, versatile teacher with the ability to teach primary level to join their team with an ASAP start. The successful educator must be willing to go into the school to get to know the staff and get familiar with the curriculum beforehand.

The pupils that attend the school may be diagnosed with autism or co-existing conditions including ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, Tourette’s syndrome, epilepsy and or challenging behaviour. The pupils are aged between 5-11.

The school day consists of 10-15 minuet activities to keep the children engaged including handwriting sessions, creative play, and outdoor learning activities. The base is located in the heart of Barry and is easily accessible by public transport.

Ideally, the successful applicant will be a well-rounded teacher with good knowledge across all aspects taught at primary level. The work will be set with small numbers per class. The role is full time and will have the potential to move onto a school contract should you perform well in the role.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a challenging environment and will be able to display excellent behavioural management.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available later.

Essential requirements

  • Enhanced Child only DBS – on the update service
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • 2x professional teaching references
