Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant which is able to assist pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH) and learning difficulties. This will be situated within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), therefore an age range of 3-19 will apply. The job role is situated within Neath.
We are looking for an individual which is enthusiastic to make a difference and be able to de-escalate, distract and keep pupils calm and collected during their scheduled learning times. As you can appreciate, the school will not adopt a typical school environment and experience in this area is preferred as you will be expected to provide a ‘hands-on’ approach to learning and de-escalation when required.
This role is not without its rewards as development with the pupils is a wonderful experience and will allow you to be part of their long term journey within education. Outdoor and indoor activities can be taken advantage of and we encourage any applicants looking to engage with the pupils in variety of ways to ensure the teaching is tailored to the individuals. Creative flare and imagination is key to this role as it can bring a new perspective of learning to the pupils which can be very effective.
If you feel the below applies to you, then please get in touch!
- Have experience with pupils of varied ages with social, emotional and mental health difficulties?
- Are enthusiastic and driven by making a difference to pupils through varied teaching methods?
- Want to provide a different perspective to learning and help overcome challenges with the pupils?
- Able to effectively and appropriately de-escalate and distract pupils when required?
This is an opportunity to showcase your talents and be able to support children in overcoming their barriers with learning. Should you require any additional information regarding this role, or to apply for the position, please contact Laura on the number below or send a copy of your CV through for consideration.
I look forward to hearing from you!
