About the Role
As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with class teachers, you’ll help deliver engaging lessons, lead small group interventions, and provide tailored support to pupils with a range of learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the curriculum
- Provide targeted support to pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Lead intervention sessions for pupils with additional needs, including SEND and EAL
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Support pupils’ emotional and social development, encouraging confidence and resilience
- Prepare and organise learning resources and assist in tracking pupil progress
- Maintain effective communication with staff, parents, and carers
- Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities and events
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working as a HLTA or in a similar role within a primary school
- A HLTA qualification or equivalent is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
- A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning
- Confidence in managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
- Ability to adapt to the needs of individual learners and support inclusive education
