Graduate Teaching Assistant – Year 1 Support Role

Start Date: December 2025
Contract: Full-Time (8:30am – 3:30pm), Term Time Only

As a Teaching Assistant in Year 1, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across a range of subjects, helping to foster both academic progress and personal development.

Your Role Will Include:

• Providing tailored in-class support to pupils of varying abilities
• Assisting with lesson planning and delivery under teacher guidance
• Leading small-group and one-to-one interventions
• Helping maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Contributing to the wider school community and ethos

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Holds (or is working towards) a university degree—ideally in education or a related field
• Has experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, volunteering, school placements)
• Is genuinely interested in pursuing a career in teaching
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic about supporting young learners
• Holds a Level 2 Safeguarding qualification (or is willing to complete training with us)
