KS1 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Contract: Full-time, Part-time

Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school in the DH2 area who are seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils in Key Stage 1. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is confident leading groups, delivering interventions, and covering classes when required.

Role and Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across KS1, both in and out of the classroom

• Plan and deliver small group interventions and targeted support

• Cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring high standards of learning are maintained

• Assist with planning and assessment to support pupil progress

• Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Candidate Requirements

• HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification (essential)

• Experience supporting pupils across KS1

• Good knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements

• Ability to confidently cover whole classes when needed

• Strong communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
