Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School, Burnage

Location: Burnage
Start Date: After February half term

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be partnering with a welcoming, forward-thinking primary school in Burnage committed to supporting every child’s academic, social, and emotional development. The school is now seeking an experienced and dedicated Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team after February half term.

About the Role

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in enhancing learning across the school. Working closely with teaching staff, you’ll support lesson delivery, lead targeted interventions, and assist with planning and assessment. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate HLTA who is eager to make a meaningful difference within a nurturing and vibrant school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons
  • Lead one-to-one or small group interventions to accelerate pupil progress
  • Create and maintain an inclusive, positive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development
  • Prepare learning materials and track pupil progress
  • Provide personalised support for pupils with additional needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and wider school staff

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a HLTA or in a senior classroom support position
  • A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to working in education
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting diverse learning needs
  • HLTA qualification (or equivalent) – highly desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
