Teaching Personnel are working closely with Pupil Referral Units and SEMH Schools in Bolton that are looking for individuals who can be a perfect role model for pupils who are disengaged with their studies. We are recruiting individuals to join schools after Easter when schools should be in full capacity again. The Behaviour Support is to work closely with those who have challenging behaviours and social/emotional difficulties. This role will be challenging but highly rewarding seeing the difference you are making to these young people's lives.
Within this environment you will be tasked with the following roles and responsibilities:
- Provide opportunities to progress academically, socially and emotionally
- Leading by example as a role model
- Leading small groups of sports and classroom activity sessions
- Have an understanding of individuals personalities and needs
- Offer guidance and mentoring
- Have an understanding/interest in sports
- Provide a safe environment to learn
- Deal with any challenging or disruptive behaviour
- Offer advice and support
- Develop self-confidence, positive self-image and independence
- Fully compliant in safeguarding policies and procedures
The environment of Pupil Referral Units and SEMH Schools are unlike that of a mainstream school as it is much more nurturing, pastoral, student focused and personal, giving you the chance to really have an impact and create a relationship with the students.
Requirements for this role include:
- Experience working with children in any professional setting
- Experience working in other similar roles, such as in care or with vulnerable people, with SEN or SEMH needs
- Sports background
- A strong personality
- A DBS on the update service
- Ability to attain 2 references and a 5-year career history.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
