Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of an SEND school in the Middlesbrough area, which is looking to recruit a general SEND support assistant for early year's students. The role will start with immediate effect on a full time basis and will be on going for a short term basis; however you will have access to further work opportunities through Teaching Personnel. You will be working alongside other specialist teaching assistants and support staff to care for young people.

An enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant is required to assist pupils in their day to day learning and routines. The successful candidate will be required to deliver a small amount of personal care to these children. You will have a desire for working with children and be looking to make a real difference. Ideally you will have experience of working within an educational setting supporting students with PMLD, SLD, MLD and ASC and will be passionate about giving young children with SEND the best start possible in education.

The ideal support teaching assistant will -

  • Have experience of working with or caring for younger children
  • Have numeracy/literacy skills (at a level equivalent to NQF Level 2)
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience, for example Nursery nursing)
  • Have an understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
