Teaching Assistant for Secondary Challenging Behaviour

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEND school in Stockton on Tees who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support across Key Stages on a full time basis, to commence after the May half term working with students who display challenging behaviour.
The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 who have various SEND, the students are in need of extra support and guidance primarily with their English, Maths and Science; however some support may be needed for some students across other elements of the curriculum. The main aspect of the role will be helping the students to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time. You will be expected to monitor children's personal progress within lessons, and you will have regular meetings with the class teacher to discuss this and to provide support for yourself within the role.
The client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, counselling and graduates. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and have a strong desire to work with SEND.
Teaching Personnel can offer Teaching Assistants up to £65 per day. Registering with Teaching Personnel will also provide you with access to unique CPD opportunities to increase your qualifications and knowledge of the field, so this position is ideal for those wishing to broaden their work experience. We have an upcoming Team Teach training course which will highly benefit you in this role when responding to challenging behaviour. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.
