Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary to permanent

Working Hours: Full-time, term time only

Are you passionate about supporting young people in their education and development? A specialist educational setting in Chorley is looking for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis, starting immediately.

This role is ideal for someone who can offer positive male role modelling and enjoys working in a structured, supportive environment. You will be working with pupils who may display challenging behaviours and require tailored support to reach their full potential.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting pupils in and out of the classroom to engage with their learning.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to deliver individualised support plans.
• Contributing to a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment.
• Helping students to develop life skills and independence.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
• A calm, patient, and proactive approach to support.
• A genuine commitment to making a difference in young people’s lives.
• Someone who can provide strong and positive role modelling, especially for boys and young men.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable But Not Essential:

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, Psychology).
• Experience in a PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision setting.
