Are you a teaching assistant looking for a new opportunity? An Ofsted 'OUTSTANDING' primary SEN school in Radcliffe, Bury are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support within their school on a long term basis from December 2018. This position is a full time post which is due to continue until the end of the new academic year. If both parties are happy then this position will then go permanent.

This school are a 98 place school that support pupils with complex medical, communication and physical needs. Some children also have Autism Spectrum Conditions that can result in challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils aged 4 - 11 throughout mixed ability classes. Pupil's communication needs result in alternative methods of communication being used around school, such as iPads, PECs, Brail and BSL. Promoting independence is a main focus within this 'Outstanding' school therefore staff who share this passion n is essential.

It would be highly desirable for the Teaching Assistant to have experience of;

  • Moving and Handling Training
  • PEG Feeding
  • Tracheostomy Training
  • Team- teach training
  • Delivering Personal Care
  • School based experience is also highly desirable

Should you not hold the above training please don't hesitate to get in touch as this school have said that 'previous training would be useful, but the right personality is essential'.
