Job description

We are currently seeking full time Teaching Assistants with a passion for supporting individuals with special educational needs and learning difficulties. In this role applicants will be supporting the needs of pupils during their education and social engagement with their peers and wider community. Working on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis with pupils and staff, applicants will be able to positively impact the lives of pupils will also making a positive change in their career.

This is working in a school that caters for Primary and Secondary aged pupils with a complex variety of needs including children who demonstrate any number of the following:

  • Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD) / Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Challenging Behaviour
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Disengaged or uncooperative behaviour

The school is based in North Hampshire and is outstanding small, supportive alternative education centre for learners aged 11 to 16-years-old. The school offers short-term placements for young people in the Basingstoke area who need additional behavioural, emotional or medical support.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience managing challenging behaviour, this can from personal or professional roles. The type of experience which is transferable includes: Youth Work, Police, Mentorship and Sports Coaching
