Job description

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity where a passion for teaching and making a change in young people’s lives is paramount?

Teaching Personnel are looking for qualified Teachers with a background in supporting SEN and SEMH students to support schools in the Stockport and Tameside area.

  • Classroom based
  • Supporting complex needs, mental health challenges and behavioural issues
  • Working with young people with additional needs including autism, sensory needs, PMLD and medical support
  • Day-to-day work, short-term and long-term placements

What you will be doing 

  • Working with a class team to create safe and welcoming learning environments  
  • Create engaging lessons which accommodate for the differing needs within your classroom  
  • Collaborating with staff teams and parents to ensure young people’s welfare and wellbeing  
  • Behaviour management strategies using a calm approach  

Abou you

  • Prior experience working with young people with SEND needs
  • A nurturing and epathetic approach, with great communication skills
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and carers alike
  • A positive approach to teaching
  • Ability to support challenging behaviour and provide a high level of pastoral care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
