Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with alternative provision specialising in SEN across the Weston-Super-Mare area.

We are looking for a number of Teachers who are specialising or passionate to work with students with Special Educational needs or are looking to make the move into Special Educational Needs.

Ideally applicants would have teaching experience with autism and severe learning difficulties (SLD) in a SEN school setting from EYFS - KS2 or across KS3 & KS4 although this is not essential.

Additional qualifications such as Team Teach and Autism Awareness are desired but not mandatory.

We would also welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers or Teachers with mainstream SEN experience.

Our ideal SEN practitioner will have:

  • 6 months experience teaching students with ASC and SLD in a mainstream or SEN setting
  • A good awareness of SEN with up to date Safeguarding and Prevent training/de-escalation strategies
  • Adaptable across the primary and/or secondary curriculum and able to differentiate to the pupils requirements and bespoke needs
  • Excellent behaviour management and a good team player
