Career development and support

Due to a recent appointment within the schools Science department falling through, the Head teacher of our partner school is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher with a proven track record of achieving high results to join them now. This post is suitable for both newly qualified and experienced Science Teachers who are seeking a progressive role within a school that is going from strength to strength.

The successful candidate will either be a strong Science Teacher with experience teaching Biology, Chemistry or Physics to KS3 and KS4 level, or alternatively applications from Science NQT's would be considered if they show the determination and potential to become outstanding Science Teachers in the future. The role would involve working with a wide variety of age groups so the teacher must be adaptable in their approach to teaching in an aim to raise attainment across all age groups in the school.

The school has been challenged by Welsh Assembly Government, EAS and Caerphilly County Council to make further academic progress. The school is rapidly making these improvements. As one of the 40 schools listed by 'Challenge Cymru' the school has been fortunate to receive additional funding and works in close partnership with other schools in the area. These improvements have been noted in the past two years.

  • 43 (42%) of students achieved an A/A*
