Teacher of English – Key Stages 3 and 4

The School is seeking a full time English Teacher to start from March 2021 onwards. The role is expected to last one term in the first instance, but there is a strong possibility that this will extend until the end of the academic year. This a fantastic opportunity to support learning and student attainment after the lockdown period. NQTs are welcome to apply, as well as experienced Teachers.
About the School
This is a small Secondary School located on the north outskirts of Brighton. Rooted with its own community, it is a vibrant and inclusive School that welcomes all backgrounds and abilities. As such, there is a high level of support present to ensure all learning needs are met. Staff look forward to a family community, in which everyone is valued, and relationships are key for success. It is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school, with core strengths in school culture, leadership and its broad curriculum.
The role
This is a full-time role teaching English at KS3 and KS4 of the curriculum. Classes are mostly large, and mixed ability. You will be joining a large departmental team with a key focus on raising attainment as a result of the ending lockdown. You will be passionate about your subject and keen to instil that passion with your students through your engaging teaching practice. You will have good communication skills and will be keen to build rapport with your students.
The successful applicant will:
- Have recognised and relevant teaching qualifications.
- Be confident and able to teach up to KS4 of the national curriculum for English.
- Be a strong practitioner, able to support learning across all abilities.
- Have the right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
