Teacher of A Level Psychology for September 2019

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a school based in the Gosport area of Hampshire who is recruiting for a Teacher of Psychology to join them in September 2019 on a full time, permanent basis. The school are looking to appoint an A Level specialist to join the social sciences faculty. An additional ability or willingness to teach sociology and/or R.E would be advantageous, although not essential. The school are ideally looking for someone who has recently qualified, yet it's ambitious in their career, quality driven and passionate about learning and social sciences.

Psychology is taught at the school using the AQA syllabus and are currently the largest provider of the subject in the area. They work in close partnership with local universities; Portsmouth and Winchester to allow students to conduct psychological research. The department regularly invites in guest speakers and aims to offer a curriculum that is rich and engaging.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status specialising in Social Sciences, although would also consider an FE trained teacher who is looking to peruse a career in a successful secondary school.
  • An expert in Psychology in order to continue to replicate the schools previous achievements such as students going on to study at Russel Group Universities, Oxford and Cambridge
  • An ambitious teacher who seeks leadership opportunities in the future
  • Committed to their continual professional development, is reflective and supports the development of other teachers
