Qualified Humanities Teacher

Are you a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of learners? We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join a supportive and ambitious school, delivering engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach Humanities subjects, including History, Geography and/or Religious Studies, across a broad range of abilities. You will be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can achieve their potential and develop a genuine interest in the world around them.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND, SEMH and EAL needs.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, implementing strategies to raise attainment.
• Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour for learning.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the Humanities department.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Participate fully in departmental meetings, school events and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable

• Experience teaching more than one Humanities subject.
• Knowledge of GCSE specifications and examination requirements.
• Experience supporting students with SEND and additional learning needs.
