Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)?
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a number of primary schools across the NP12 area to recruit enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who can provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who wants to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey.
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals within a supportive school environment.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs.
- Assisting small groups to access classroom activities and learning tasks.
- Supporting pupils with communication, social and emotional development.
- Working closely with class teachers and ALN coordinators to implement support strategies.
- Encouraging independence while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
- Celebrating progress and helping pupils build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Who We're Looking For
We would love to hear from Teaching Assistants who have:
- Experience supporting children with ALN, SEN, autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or behavioural challenges.
- Previous experience within education, childcare, care work, youth work, sports coaching or similar support roles.
- A patient, resilient and positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
