ALN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: April 2026
Location: NP12 Area
Pay Rate: £92.95 per day (minimum)
Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
We are recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a Primary School located in the NP12 area. This role begins in April 2026 and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on children’s learning and wellbeing.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with ALN
- Assist with individual learning programmes created by the class teacher and ALNCo
- Support children with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties and general learning delays
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in classroom activities
- Work closely with teachers, support staff and external agencies
- Help maintain an inclusive and safe learning environment
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school environment
- Understanding of ALN or a willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A patient, supportive and proactive approach
- Ability to work well as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
