ALN Teaching Assistant Required
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the NP12 area on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing educational environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the ALNCo, and other support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs, ensuring they are fully engaged and included in school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ALN.
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and intervention programmes.
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where appropriate.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge or experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting young learners.
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
