Support Worker for Residential SEND School

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist SEND provision in central Newcastle, who are looking for a support worker to work with students in their residential home for disabled students. The role will be held on a flexible basis, and occasionally you may be required to work evening or night shifts.

You will be supporting young people with severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties, including:

  • Speech and language difficulties
  • Downs Syndrome
  • Autism

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with severe learning difficulties. However, the client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, care work and graduates; the most important quality is a passion for improving the lives of young people and a kind and nurturing personality. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.

Teaching Personnel can offer support assistant's competitive pay rates of £65 per day, however this will increase if working a night shift. This role will commence as soon as possible on a flexible basis.. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
