You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident supporting pupils in Key Stages 1-4 on a 1:1 basis in a classroom environment.

You will work as part of a large school team, comprising of specialist teachers, learning support assistants, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and psychologists; all of whom work towards the same goal of ensuring our pupils’ continuous progress and development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience supporting young people with ASC
  • Have an understanding of the TEACCH principles and use of these within a specialist classroom
  • Have experience of creating sensory profiles,  minimising sensory distress, and improving sensory processing
  • Have a knowledge and understanding of a multi-disciplinary approach to learning, focussing on specific skills such as communication, signing, or role play, using approaches to develop sensory awareness and reduce anxiety

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
