Support required for pupils with Autism

Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently supporting a provision in Maidenhead that offers support to pupils with Autism (non-verbal and verbal). The role is full time Monday – Friday 8.30am -16.30pmwith full training programme included.

Job Description

  • 1:1 teaching sessions using reward based learning and positive reinforcement
  • Key worker for 2-3 pupils, delivering intervention programmes specifically designed for each pupil needs
  • Reporting pupil progress to supervisors and therapist to help adapt intervention programmes
  • Collect data on pupil progress and input the information on graphs to track development
  • Engage pupils in activities inside and outside the classroom
  • Responsible for safeguarding the health and safety of pupils
  • Supporting the class teacher during class based activities and learning

Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree or Equivalent - Psychology, Health and Social Care, Social Studies, Education and Childcare
  • Comfortable managing behaviour (full training is provided)
  • Positive attitude and an energetic personality
  • Happy to take on board training – essential part of the role to learn how to deliver 122 intervention
  • Experience working with Special Education Needs (professional or personal) – Autism, ADHD, Behaviour and Speech Language Communication Needs
