Due to the increasing need for external cover at this time of year for our client schools in Newport we require additional supply teachers to support a number of different schools in the Newport area. This is a flexible role with full time and part time positions available, dependent on your availability and the needs of the school. Working as a supply teacher is a great way to gain further experience in a secondary school before enrolling on a PGCE or similar teacher training programme, or alternatively is a good stepping stone for somebody seeking their first step into an exciting and rewarding career in education.
- Full time and part time hours available working as a supply teacher in a variety of secondary schools across Newport
- Further training and development opportunities available through CPD courses ran within Teaching Personnel's partner schools
- Earn up to £100 a day dependent on your experience and the responsibilities involved within the role
Working with Teaching Personnel gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of secondary school within the Newport area, giving you a multitude of experience in different secondary school environments. The role of a supply teacher is a challenging yet very rewarding position, where every day will be different as you make a real difference in the development of pupils at a very important time in their life. Some of the responsibilities you should expect to encounter on a daily basis are:
- Setting pre-planned work from the subject teacher and ensuring that all pupils are engaged and completing the work.
- Delivering effective behaviour management and ensuring all pupils are adhering to the schools' behaviour policy
- Supporting pupils with any queries they have, offering guidance and advice with any problems they may have
