  • Cover Supervisor position
  • Immediate start date
  • Aberdare
  • Full time, although we can be flexible
  • £60-£80 a day
  • Supporting the class in the teachers absence

As a cover supervisor, you will be working as an unqualified teacher within the school. You will have a time table comprised of mixed KS3 and 4 classes and a range of subjects. Although work will be set by the teacher, you will be tasked with ensuring classroom standards are met and that behaviour is managed effectively.

The role is ideal for a candidate from a coaching background, but also a Teaching Assistant who is looking to step up and gain more authority and responsibility in the classroom. Alternatively, PGCE candidates have found the role beneficial to enhance their own confidence before embarking on a full time teaching role.

As part of a faculty working under new leadership, you will be expected to help implement the new policies and positive change already making noticeable differences within the school.

A recent ESTYN inspection has commented on the need for an improvement towards behavioural ethos and pupil engagement. Subsequent reports have commended the staff on their commitment to turning this around and already the learning atmosphere in the school has become incredibly positive.

The school boasts modern ICT and sports facilities having recently undergone reconstruction five years ago. There is a strong support for SEN pupils and those with challenging behaviours.

The ideal candidate;

  • Have excellent classroom management
  • Adopt a positive learning attitude
  • Will have a DBS on the update service (we provide full assistance)
