Temporary Sports Coach
Start: ASAP
Location: Central Brighton
Full time until May Half term in the first instance
Salary - GBP75-GBP90 per day depending on skills and experience
We, at Teaching Personnel, are working alongside a Secondary School in Central Brighton who are looking for a temporary Sports Coach to join their team as soon as possible!
The school is a community where every individual is valued and expected to excel.
The physical education programme offers the student the opportunity to benefit from specialist teaching and coaching through participation in a variety of different sporting activities. This will not only benefit them by improving their skills, techniques and tactical understanding but will offer them opportunities to develop socially, physically and mentally.
The PE programme aims to instil the understanding and the importance of fitness and health for life. Students are taught how their bodies function and the importance of looking after themselves for the benefit of their general well-being. There are opportunities for the students to further their academic achievements through sport by undertaking GCSE PE, GCSE Dance and A Level PE studies.
This role is suited for an individual with a passion for sports who will relish the opportunity to work with pupils in secondary education. You will take on the role of a teacher delivering sports lessons in Physical Education using lesson plans that have been set by the school’s teachers. It is essential that students remain on task and are controlled through effective behaviour management skills.
Supporting in secondary schools in this way, as a confident sports coach will provide you with valuable experience to support a future teacher training application. As a sports coach, you will have the relevant transferable skills to work with students that need a role model figure in the learning mentor role or to control students in the classroom as a PE cover supervisor. Any relevant previous experience is beneficial such as supporting as a youth worker or having undertaken a voluntary role in a school.
We like to think the biggest benefit you will receive from Teaching Personnel is work – as much work as you need! We also believe the vast choice and variety in the roles available will give you a better experience during your time with us.
That said, we are passionate about the value you can provide to our client schools and are determined to help you deliver this. We are also eager that you have an enjoyable and rewarding experience with us that sees you staying with Teaching Personnel for as long as your circumstances allow.
