Teaching Personnel are seeking enthusiastic Sports graduates and Sports coaches, to work as Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant's in Secondary schools around Newport and the surrounding areas.  

• Full time and part time roles available.
• Working in Secondary schools
• GBP300 - GBP350 weekly pay

About the Role:

As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be mentoring young people in schools who are struggling to re-adjust to life back at school after missed time in school due to lock down. Your role will be delivering sports sessions, supporting with behaviour management, and engaging/interacting with the children to enable them to access the curriculum fully.

Your time in the school will be split between part working in the school learning support base as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, and partly also as a PE assistant supporting the PE department with lessons when the teacher is absent. For this role, the the ability to engage and build rapport using Sports coaching and academic background is essential. 

A large part of this role will be using sports to build rapport with disengaged students.  These students are likely to have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and so there will be an element of managing challenging behaviour to this role.

We are seeking Sports Graduate Teaching Assistants for the following areas:

• Newport
• Caldicot
• Abergavenny
• Monmouthshire
• Cwmbran

Requirements:

• You must have a sports background
• You must be enthusiatic and passionate about helping others.  
• Valid DBS
• EWC registered
• Previous experience (personal or professional) supporting or coaching children and/or adults

If you have experience in SEND environments this would be an advantage, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
