In these meetings SEN TA’s will provide academic intervention and support with the aim to raise SEN students attainment and ensure they achieve their potential. These meetings will also be key in providing pastoral support to SEN students, ensuring positive behaviour by being a good role model and forming professional working relationships.

Roles, responsibilities and highlights will include:

  • Supporting SEN students with Down’s Syndrome and other requirements in classroom settings
  • Working with SEN students in one-to-one and small group sessions working to improve attainment and raise self-esteem and inclusion
  • Providing programmes of out of class work to help develop SEN students’ key skills and academic capacities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and working to be a good role model to students with Down’s Syndrome and other SEN students, ensuring they understand the schools behaviour policies
  • Full time temporary position for 1 term commencing after Easter
