Teaching Personnel's Northampton Branch are seeking inspiring and committed individuals looking for a rewarding role working as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant.

The School is a purpose built special school for primary aged pupils, who have severe social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEMH) based in Reading.

Due to the nature of the role we are looking for a patient, caring, individual who has a passion for helping students reach their full potential. The role is specifically dealing with children aged 4-11 who have low confidence and need to overcome barriers and be nurtured into becoming functioning citizens and learners.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Willingness to contribute to whole school development
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Resilient and reflective

No qualifications are necessary, though if you have previous experience or feel confident in at least 3 of the following then don't hesitate to get in touch…

  • Youth/Community work experience
  • Youth Offending Service experience
  • Support/Care Work
  • Special Education Needs Experience (either within a work or a personal environment)
  • Experience in assisting people with social, emotional and mental health issues (either within a work or a personal environment)
  • Sports coaching, qualifications or experience
  • Mentoring/Tutoring
  • Teaching/Learning Support Assistance
  • Challenging behaviour outside of a school environment
  • Outgoing personality
  • Proactive
  • Degree in Psychology or education
