Special Needs Teaching Assistant- Stockport
Teaching Personnel have just been approached by our partner secondary school in Stockport to recruit for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join them in the new academic year. The incoming Special Needs Teaching Assistant will join a high performing inclusion department who provide excellent outcomes for pupils with Special Needs:
'Pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities make good progress from their starting points because leaders analyse their needs in detail and target funding well to provide appropriate support'- Ofsted, 2017
The role-
Due to a permanent gap arising within the Special Needs department our partner secondary school wish to source a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join them initially on a temporary basis for one term. This represents a fantastic opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to take up a new challenge and potentially earn a fixed-term contract with the school after the initial supply period.
Working under the leadership of an experienced SENCO, you will be expected to support pupils with Special Needs across all year groups. You will also be assigned as a 'key-worker' for a number of pupils and be expected to report their progress over the first term of the academic year.
Previous experience of supporting pupils with special needs is essential, in particular those who have Autism, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and moderate learning difficulties.
The school-
Our partner secondary school enjoys an excellent reputation within the local area and is regularly over-subscribed as a result. There are currently over 1,100 pupils on roll with the proportion of pupils who have a statement of special educational needs or an education, health and care plan is higher than average.
It is located in the Bredbury area of Stockport making it easily accessible to the surrounding areas via the M60. Gee Cross, Hyde and the other areas of Tameside are only a short drive away. There are also direct bus links to the school for those requiring public transport.
How to apply-
If you are a Special Needs Teaching Assistant seeking a new role from September, please do not hesitate to send your full CV to Paul via the link below. To discuss this position in further detail, please contact the Manchester South Secondary branch directly.
