Teaching Personnel are actively seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant on behalf of an excellent school based in Cosham.
The school caters for children with varied SEN needs such as Autism, Dyslexia, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties, Moderate and Severe learning difficulties and Speech and language communication difficulties. The staff at the school work very closely as part of a team, to offer a nurturing environment where pupils can develop to their full potential. The school caters for pupils ranging from 2-19 years old.
You will be expected to work within a small class usually numbering between 4 to 5 students. Each class has a teacher and 2 to 3 teaching assistants, enabling all pupils to receive the appropriate amount of care and support.
The successful SEN teaching assistant must:
• Be pro active and be able to engage students
• Be patient and can be a positive role model for children
• Be able to use positive reinforcement when supporting behaviour difficulties
• Have a DBS or be willing to apply for one
