Full-Time SEN Teacher Position in Nottingham.

Teaching Personnel are now recruiting for a Specialist SEN Teacher. The position is a January start on a full-time permanent basis. Ideal candidates will have experience working within SEN schools, more specifically; SLD, PMLD and Physical Disabilities.

We are working on behalf of a 'Specialist School' in Nottingham (NG8). The School provides for pupils aged 3-19 with severe, profound and complex learning and physical difficulties and disabilities.The schools work is considered Outstanding by OFSTED.

Most pupils have a degree of Moderate or Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), some pupils also have Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will be teaching a class of between 5-10 pupils with severe learning difficulties and limited communication, across all years throughout the school, You will also be responsible for between 3-5 teaching assistants. The students are working at 'P Levels'.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills:

• Fully qualified teacher (with QTS).

•Extensive experience of working in SEN schools.

•Experience of supporting children on the Autistic spectrum, including those with challenging behaviour and communication difficulties.

•Training and/or experience using Makaton, PECS and other forms of communication aids for students with impaired communication.

•Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.

•Confidence to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams including school staff, parents, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

•Additional qualifications in Team Teach, MAPA, Autism, Manual Handling etc are desirable but NOT essential.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
