SEN Teaching Assistant – Leigh, Wigan (WN7)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with the potential to become permanent)

Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs, or SEMH.
- A relevant TA qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable.
- Confidence in using a range of SEND strategies and resources.
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- A proactive and flexible approach to working as part of a wider SEND team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated and engaging learning activities.
- Use a range of strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and independence.
- Help create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Work closely with the SENDCo, external professionals, and teaching staff to review progress and adjust support.
- Support pupils’ social development, inclusion, and overall wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
