Do you have a passion to inspire children?
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a SEND school in North Tyneside to recruit an experienced Maths Teacher to teach Key Stages 3 and 4. The position is to work alongside children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues and therefore demands a dedicated individual wanting to fully commit to the role. The successful candidate is to work on a full time basis, commencing ASAP!
As a SEMH Maths Teacher, you will be supporting children who often display challenging behaviour. Because of this, the candidate must have some experience working with children and young people with SEMH. As well as this, de-escalation training would be advantageous and the school would also consider a candidate with youth work backgrounds, or similar roles. The candidate must be qualified to teach at GCSE level as well as having an awareness of the maths curriculum.
You will be working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour such as:
- Anxiety
- Exclusion
- Speech and language difficulties
- A disengagement with the classroom and learning
- Withdrawn attitudes
- Frustrated, angry and aggressive tempers
- Truancy
Teaching Personnel can offer behaviour support assistant’s competitive pay rates of GBP500-GBP600 per week, as well as providing you with access to unique CPD opportunities to increase your qualifications. Through this, Teaching Personnel can provide a range of training including; Team Teach, Introduction to Autism and Level 2 Safeguarding.
