SEN Tutor Vacancies – Make a Difference Across Christchurch

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional learning needs? TP Tutors is currently recruiting dedicated SEN Tutors to provide personalised one-to-one tuition for learners across Christchurch and nearby areas.

Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Christchurch and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available

About the Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will work closely with students who require additional support outside of mainstream education settings. Many learners may experience challenges linked to Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, anxiety, or other barriers that affect their education.

You will deliver tailored tuition sessions designed to build confidence, improve engagement, and help students progress both academically and personally in a calm and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging one-to-one tuition sessions
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs and abilities
  • Support learners in developing confidence, motivation, and independence
  • Create positive and structured learning environments
  • Monitor progress and adjust learning strategies where required
  • Build effective relationships with parents, carers, and other professionals
  • Encourage emotional wellbeing alongside educational achievement

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people is advantageous
  • Suitable backgrounds may include teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, or support roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to helping learners succeed
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices
  • Ability to travel across Christchurch and nearby locations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
