SEN Tutor Opportunities – Empower Young Learners in Christchurch

Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with additional educational needs? Join TP Tutors as an SEN Tutor in Christchurch and surrounding areas, helping students build confidence, overcome learning barriers, and achieve success through personalised one-to-one support.

Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Christchurch and nearby areas
Contract: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available

About the Role

TP Tutors is looking for compassionate and adaptable tutors to provide tailored educational support for students outside of mainstream classroom settings. You will work closely with learners who may experience challenges linked to Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, anxiety, or other additional learning requirements.

This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference by creating engaging learning experiences that encourage progress, independence, and renewed confidence in education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured and engaging one-to-one tuition sessions
  • Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities
  • Encourage emotional wellbeing and positive learner engagement
  • Support students in developing confidence and independence
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and professionals where appropriate
  • Track learner progress and adjust support strategies accordingly
  • Create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial
  • Backgrounds in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, care, or support roles are welcomed
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, understanding, and adaptable approach
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to learner progress
  • Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Able to travel across Christchurch and surrounding locations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
