Help Young People Thrive Through Personalised Learning – SEN Tutor Opportunity in Bournemouth

At TP Tutors, we know that every young person learns differently. Some students need additional encouragement, consistency, and tailored support to help them re-engage with education and develop confidence in their abilities. That’s where our tutors make a real difference.

We are looking for compassionate and motivated SEN Tutors in Bournemouth to provide one-to-one tuition for children and young people with a range of additional learning needs.

Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Bournemouth and nearby areas
Hours: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available

The Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver personalised sessions that are designed around each learner’s individual strengths, challenges, and educational goals. Tuition may take place in homes, community settings, or other appropriate learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and structured one-to-one tuition sessions
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and abilities
  • Support students with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and learning difficulties
  • Build positive relationships that encourage trust and confidence
  • Help learners develop independence, motivation, and emotional resilience
  • Track progress and tailor support plans as needs evolve
  • Work collaboratively with families and professionals involved in the learner’s support network

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial
  • Backgrounds in education, mentoring, youth work, care, tutoring, or support work are welcomed
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
  • Ability to travel within Bournemouth and surrounding areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
