Job description

Inspire Learning and Build Confidence – SEN Tutor Needed in Christchurch

At TP Tutors, we are passionate about helping young people reach their potential through personalised education and meaningful support. We are currently seeking caring and motivated SEN Tutors in Christchurch to work with children and young people who benefit from tailored one-to-one learning.

Role: SEN Tutor
Location: Christchurch and nearby areas
Hours: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available

The Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will provide individual tuition sessions outside of mainstream classroom settings, supporting learners with a variety of additional needs. Your role will focus on creating engaging lessons that help students develop confidence, improve engagement, and achieve positive educational outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised one-to-one tuition sessions
  • Support students with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and learning difficulties
  • Adapt learning materials and teaching strategies to suit individual learners
  • Encourage independence, motivation, and emotional wellbeing
  • Build positive relationships with students and families
  • Track learner progress and adjust sessions where required
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

About You

  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial
  • Backgrounds in education, mentoring, youth work, care, tutoring, or support roles are welcomed
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices
  • Ability to travel across Christchurch and surrounding locations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
