Job description

SEN Tutor – Dorchester

Empower Learners Through Personalised Education

TP Tutors is looking for compassionate and motivated SEN Tutors to support children and young people across Dorchester and the surrounding areas through high-quality one-to-one tuition.

Many of the learners we support have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, or learning difficulties. Your role will be to provide tailored educational support that helps them build confidence, develop key skills, and achieve positive outcomes.

Location: Dorchester and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Flexible part-time and full-time roles available
Pay: £25–£30 per hour 
Delivery: One-to-one tuition

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised tuition sessions aligned to learner needs
  • Create engaging learning activities that encourage progress
  • Build learner confidence and motivation
  • Track progress and adjust support strategies accordingly
  • Establish a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
  • Provide regular feedback and session updates

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Experience supporting learners with SEN/SEND needs
  • Background in teaching, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, or educational support
  • Knowledge of safeguarding expectations
  • Ability to travel across Dorchester and neighbouring areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
